The Acoustic design of environments: how does it work?
When creating the acoustic design for a home or workspace, sound plays a leading role. One of the variables considered in this phase is the propagation of sound waves within the environment. This depends on the structure of the building, the materials used for the walls, the presence of glass or the presence and arrangement of furnishings.
Sound waves, which, in an ideal environment free of obstructions, diffuse geometrically, are disturbed by the presence of architectural elements or furnishings which create a variation in their diffusion trajectory called diffraction.
The purpose of acoustic design is to prevent these sound diffusion disturbances and correct them before they become an annoying problem.
LvB Italia software for acoustic design
Acoustic design is achieved through complex calculations. For this reason, at LvB Italia, we have developed our own software with the help of acoustic engineers. This tool enables us to identify the best solution for any type of environment based on information obtained by completing the dedicated form.
Starting from the type of room (restaurant, office, open space, conference room, etc.) and the square footage, and based on the structural materials used for the floor, ceilings and walls and on whether there is glass present, we can create a customized solution that, with the installation of our acoustic panels will eliminate reverberation once and for all.
